What does the appraisal process entail?

The client typically contacts our office to discuss their appraisal needs and schedule an appointment for an appraiser to visit the residence, business or gallery.  The appraiser will generally go room by room if it is a residential or business appraisal or simply inventory the items that the client would like to have appraised.  The appraiser documents the objects to be appraised with notes and digital images.  Items of lesser value that do not need to be itemized will be grouped together as miscellaneous and given a “grouped” value. The appraiser then conducts computer research and a written report is generated. All client information and their items being appraised are held in strict confidentiality.
